This is an incredibly clear and grounded analysis, thank you. It’s rare to see the structural, ideological, and historical dimensions all laid out with this much clarity. The focus on imperial superprofits and cultural hegemony really hits home.
I especially appreciated the call to build disciplined organization rather than relying on spontaneous uprisings. The reminder that capitalism produces its own gravediggers (but not necessarily their unity or leadership) feels more urgent than ever.
We just have to look at the daily results of the israeli Genocide Force. Murdering unarmed people is just following orders. With the u.s. collapsing around us, DOD continues to waste our future with the support of the Duopoly. I am old enough to have been protesting at the time of Kent State. Your fears are more than justified. I am not sure the manual on How to Fight the DOD within your boarders has been written yet. : (
I love the writing great power. We need this type of language in press. Good job for making your voice heard.
They way your talking, it's like you think we can fix the systems that we have? I don't believe that's the case. Capatilism won't work, when AI is doing all the jobs. The economy can't function as it is, when the need to horde wealth through housing goes away. The constitution wasn't built for, and Congress can't handle, the amount of change coming. I'm starting to wonder if socialism will work anymore, with AI?
We need brand new systems, that are resilient and adaptable.
Yes Marx had it right. And yes, the Left is weak in leadership. But if we want to defeat capitalism, it’s an individual choice. When enough make the decision and organize into a mutually supporting co-op, we are liberated from believing we require someone to follow before we can be free. Many if not most people never consider that there are alternatives to the well-worn path of chasing the American dream. If we choose not to pursue those options, let’s not blame anyone but ourselves. We like our comforts and security. That’s what keeps us enslaved, and keeps the wheels of capitalism greased and rolling along.
I’ve been working with a group called Class Unity that’s trying to do this very thing.
We are very good at running educational courses (we’ve had them on The Permanent War Economy, 2008 GFC, Populism, and we have upcoming ones on the State and Heterodox Economics.
Would love to talk more about more strategic ways of promoting class consciousness!
Thank you for this perfect analysis of where we are. Marx was truly a genius. My fear we are well past the tipping point of reform. As another brilliant writer once wrote, Reform or Revolution, I think we are at that point of revolution being the only option now. : (

Solidarity.
Solidarity!
What about the military? How would they respond?
We’ve seen what they are capable of in defence of Empire, surely there would be a bloodbath if ever there were a revolution.

Hopefully visitors from the future will come back and neutralise ALL weapons everywhere instantaneously.

The dictatorship of capital cannot be reformed.

Check out Workers Strike Back. Reps in several states. Kshama Sawant organized real change in Seattle at the city council.

Excellent, thanks. My quibble: "climate collapse" is a myth pushed by the WEF.
